As the Coronavirus pushes everyone to stay at home instead of heading to the office, accountants, attorneys, marketing people and teachers must adapt. Some are more equipped than others for working at home but it’s still an adjustment for everyone. Along with a computer and steady internet connection there are some additional things that you will need in order to get the most out of your current situation. These tips will help you to remain productive:

Keep the television off: The first thing people plan on doing when working from home is sitting in front of the television. That’s never a good idea as it can easily distract you and slow down productivity. Keep the TV off during the day or at least muted.
Keep to your schedule: Don’t sleep in. It’s nice to think that you can get an extra 45 minutes of sleep since you don’t have to worry about your drive to work. However, sleeping in causes you to get off to a slow start during the morning.
Keep the same eating routine: If you usually have a granola bar for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch do not change that up. A bigger breakfast or lunch will not only make it easier to gain weight, but it will make you sluggish and mess with your productivity.
Find a place just for work, not fun: If you have children you need to have a spot in your home that’s reserved just for work. Try to give them as many distractions as possible like movies, puzzles, homework and fun activities. Do not try to work near then because they will want to involve you. If you are in another room or off to the side, you can focus more on work.

These tips will make it easier for you to stay focused during the day and get more work done. You do not want to make a habit of telling yourself you can do something later because the work will begin to stack up on you.
